Can't get any more retro than the conversation pit from the 70's.

Most of us that remember those things when they were a "new idea" would now have a great deal of difficulty climbing into one.
Getting out would be considerably worse. I'd be trapped in there for days!

Wow, that just looks like such a horrible idea (or maybe it's just me)

I could see doing a conversation pit with a ramp or stairs on one side (or maybe it has one and I just can't see it)

The one pictured has no other way to get into other than leaping off the edge onto the sofa, or getting down on all fours and climbing inside.
I like the additional touch the television and cassette storage lends. I just wonder where the magic button that makes a four foot Hookah rise from the floor is located. Under the groovy potted plant, perhaps?
